Judson Memorial Church, established in 1892, is a self-governing, open and affirming congregation in New York City with approximately 300 congregants. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village on Washington Square South, Judson is aligned with the American Baptist Churches and the United Church of Christ and the Alliance of Baptists and draws parishioners of varied beliefs and from diverse religious backgrounds. With a proud history of promoting human rights, social justice, and the performing arts, Judson has tripled in size and program over the last eight years.

Judson revels in the widest possible range of musical styles and genres in its worship. For example, a single Sunday service can include a traditional hymn, a choral/solo arrangement of a current pop song, a Broadway standard or folk song sung by the congregation, a spiritual or gospel song sung by the choir, and a piano solo by Philip Glass or Dave Brubeck, all chosen to complement the scriptural/sermon theme of the day.
